Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

It's Renaissance Festival Time!! Today was a perfect day... we had beautiful weather and we were with wonderful friends!!
Antonio and Shane totally enjoyed being with their friends~~ Nate, Allison, Isabella, & Gabe. And of course, I enjoyed hanging out with all of them as well as with Belinda and Kevin. There is soo much to see at the Renaissance Festival from the shows, to "normal" people dressed up, the vendors, and of course, the King, his royalty and even the peasants. This leads to great fun for the kids and some fun adult conversation for us!!

I think all of the kids enjoyed the fire show and watching the human chess match. They also enjoyed the great food and the unusual sights along the way.

Field trip.. $45.00, costume.. well let's not talk about that... Seeing the joy in their eyes, PRICELESS!

Antonio needed a costume for his field trip to the Medieval Times this week. The students are to dress as a character from that time period. Well some students have grandmothers/mothers that sew and then there's Antonio and his friends. As I spoke with a couple of the other mothers today we all were on the hunt for a cool costume that requires little or actually no sewing on our part. Tada! Success was found at the party store. (We were very fortunate that it is Mardi Gras time. ) Might I add, that Antonio was thrilled with this costume and he is looking forward to a great time on his trip!!

(p.s. i added some additional pics from the weekend)

Brotherly Love

Happy Valentines Day!!

We have had a wonderful day with our family :) It started bright and early with Shane rising a 6 a.m. kissing mommy then daddy. Both Antonio and Shane then enjoyed receiving their Valentine gifts. (This of course included chocolate, musical cards, books for Shane and Madden '09 for Antonio. We enjoyed breakfast with grandma and papa and then all laughed while watching Pink Panther 2. (of course, luckily, Shane went to sleep so I could watch most of the movie.)

We are enjoying our day together!!

As you will see in the slide show of various pics, Shane and Antonio adore each other :)

Hi/Lo Thursday

I am really enjoying reading other people's blogs and I realize that there are soo many great bloggers. I have found that some bloggers have weekly posts with themes. For instance, This post is part of "Hi/Lo Thursday" on the Riggs Family Blog. Check out their blog to read everyone else's "Hi/Lo" posts and for a chance to win $100.

So for my first attempt at Hi/Lo...

Highs:
* Sidney is in town! Watching both Shane and Antonio light up when they saw him.. priceless :)
* Antonio and Shane continue to amaze me each day. Antonio, (5th grader) really impressed me with his math skills this week. I am so very proud of him that he can convert fractions into mixed numbers and vice versa as well as turning percents into decimals. I went to help him with his homework and realized... he didn't need my help (i guess that could be a lo.. lol)
Shane amazed me when he communicated very clearly that he needed something to eat. We were driving home and were stopped at the light right next to a Burger King, Shane started making the Uh..Uh.. Uh.. noise and I asked what is it you want... and as I turned around to look at him, he was pointing to the BK sign and then starting signing MORE!! I started laughing, he was clearly letting me know that he was hungry and that he knew they had food... lol! So of course, I just had to take him through the drive through!

Lo's:
* Both boys had difficulty with the changes in weather. It just does a number on their breathing! (Wheezing & coughing, and that really wears Antonio out, especially when he is playing soccer!) Neither have been diagnosed with allergies, but both seem to have the signs of asthma. Even with the 9 year age difference, they both use the same inhaler and spacer that goes with it. ( Though I am sad they have to have the inhaler, it is precious to watch Antonio teach Shane the proper way to use it.)

A day at the park :)

A couple of weekends ago, we had an awesome day bike riding and playing at the park. My dad, Antonio, Shane and I started our adventure riding to Cresent Lake Park. Within 15 minutes of leaving the house, Shane was asleep in the bike seat. We took in all the beautiful scenery and continued our ride around the lake... no use for stopping to play since Shane was asleep. We then rode to El Cap and had some lunch. (Of course, Shane woke up to enjoy a delicious hamburger...!) After returing home... my dad left and Antonio wanted to keep going! (I love the energy that he has!) The three of us then went for another adventure, we rode to Santi's house (but he was down for a nap) and then we ended up at a different park. This time both boys were both ready to stop and play! As you can see in the slide show, the boys had a fantastic time! We are eager to go on more adventures... we just have to wait until the weather warms up a bit!

I also have a prayer request, I have been following the Riggs family blog and I have been praying for their daughter Abby. Last night the family updated that Abby is having complications. To quote: Without trying to over alarm or be melodramatic, it is COMPLICATIONS that are usual cause of death for kids in Abby’s situation. So every complication that arises at this point is very concerning. Please pray for Abby and her family. Please visit their blog to learn more about Abby's story.
