2008 started with a visit to Chef Mickey's in Disney World!
* Shane's first visit with Mickey... Antonio's ?? visit with Mickey.. (there's too many to count!)
We faced some challenges this year with Shane's chronic bronchio infections, pneumonia, croup, and ear infections..all have cleared up and Shane was a trooper through all the testing, e.r. visits and treaments! WE are truly blessed that Shane is healthy all tests have come back normal!! He just most likely is going to develop some allergies or will be diagnosed with asthma..or better yet... He will outgrow any of those lingering issues!
Antonio had two rounds of Strep this year.. he too is a trooper.. this pic of Shane and Antonio is actually when Antonio had Strep and was already on antibiotics.. They both are always happy children!
Antonio finished the recreation soccer season and then Joined Club soccer during this year!
Shane learned many skills this year.. from crawling, climbing to walking then Running..!! He was called Flash from birth for a reason! lol
Two big milestones were celebrated this year:
Antonio turned 10!!
Shane turned 1!!
2008 was a great year! We traveled a lot... many trips to Kentucky, a trip to an awesome indoor water park resort in Ohio so that we could visit with old friends, a trip to Ft. Lauderdale to visit family, club soccer games and many playdates with friends in Florida! And many movies (yes even with Shane) with grandma and papa on the weekends! Both Antonio and Shane are great travelers. (well Antonio truly prefers flying over driving long periods of time with his baby brother..lol)
The best part of all is the time spent visiting with family and friends!
** Other milestones that happened this year:
Antonio-
-Is a fifth grader.. last year in elementary school..just unbelievable~
Shane-
-Truly enjoys going to his sitter, Alice's house each day and looks forward to his papa picking him up everyday
Antonio--Really enjoys playing soccer and looks forward to Papa taking him to practice twice a week and then all of us watching his games on the weekends! He plays offense and is enjoying the challenge of this new level of the game!
Shane-
-Enjoys going to Antonio's soccer games... but sometimes he thinks he should be out on that field!! Antonio has taught him how to kick the ball and Shane is pretty good at it!
Antonio-
-Lost two teeth this year.. he doesn't have many baby teeth left..maybe just one
Shane-
-Got a lot of his teeth... even the molars! (boy that was fun..lol)
Antonio-
-Has a very robust vocabulary and learned to balance a check book which will help with his desire to spend money..!
Shane-
-Learned to roar like a dinosaur, bark like a dog, and moo like a cow and he already knows how to spend money...lol
Antonio-
-Learned that he loves to babysit Santi and always enjoys playdates with all our baby friends.. Santi, Matt & Danny (and their big sister Kirsten), and with Max in Ky! And of course he is just itching to be able to meet the quads(aka the nuggets) in Person!! We are thinking that maybe a career in Pediatrics would be a good fit for this baby whisperer!~!
Antonio also likes to meet up with his friends as well.. without baby Shane around.. he enjoys playing Bakugan,watching wrestling,playing the wii,PS.3 & D.S., and football with his friends! He and Dean have learned a lot about Bakugan and have enjoyed playing a Bakugan tournament at Toys R Us!
Shane-
-Learned that when Antonio babysits its a lot of fun for him as well. I mean what could be better than being able to play with Santi and all of Santi's toys.. especially the time when it was midnight and the two boys thought the clock said noon!! Lol.. He also enjoys playing with Matt, Danny and Kirsten! Of course.. Shane thinks all of Antonio's friends are cool too... it's very hard for Shane when his brother gets alone time without him!
Antonio-
-Favorite restaurants include: Chickfila, McDonalds, Burger King, Hooters, Outback, and Paisanos! But he would eat Chickfila everyday if I let him...but he does enjoy the Paisanos weekend buffet.. bacon, bacon, bacon.. he just can't get enough..lol
Shane-
-Well.. the question is what isn't is favorite!! LOL.. but by far it would have to be Paisonos breakfast buffet.. he starts saying.. MmmmmMmmmm while we are getting him in the highchair and while Antonio, Sid, or his grandparents fix his plate of biscuits and gravy! Can you say country boy??
-Antonio-Is an awesome big brother.. he amazes me every day. He keeps an eagle eye on Shane keeping him out of harms way and teaches him things all the time! He has even taught him to play chase and hide and seek. But Shane learns things from Antonio that sometimes drive Antonio a little crazy....
-Shane-Is an awesome little brother.. he just lights up when Antonio enters the room. Sometimes it's hard for Shane to remember that he isn't 10. He has learned how to put a disc in the PS3 and the Wii. He also knows how to point the wii remote at the t.v., how to change the t.v. channel, how to play bakugan, and how to operate the buttons on the car remote.. He is learning from Antonio all the time!
Sid and I enjoy each and every minute with Antonio and Shane! They are truly amazing children!! We are blessed!
