~~~~~~Happy 4th of July~~~~~~
You might be a redneck if...
* You started the day at Summer Motion so your 11 year old and his friends could watch the Free Wrestling matches featuring the OCW wrestlers!!
* Then... at the family cook out (serving gumbo & fried fish) the eldest youngins'(over 16 under 21) shot bottle rockets out of beer cans or maybe it was bottles... but beer cans sounded better!
* and our cook out continued in the rain; therefore the youngest had to run around in shirt and diaper only since his shorts were soaked:)
You might be a Redneck if....
* You celebrated the 4th of July evening at the local Shell station where your future brother in law works... (of course there was karaoke and free hotdogs & hamburgers!!)
* While at the gas station, you let your 2 year old run around and dance with the other youngins! At the same time, your 11 year old was dancing and being silly carrying his red, white, & blue (plastic blow up) rifle!~~
* Then you watched the fireworks from the Walmart Parking lot (Located on top of the hill!)
* And you actually enjoyed doing all of those things while in KY for the 4th!!!
Shane really loves Chuck E Cheese's and SpongeBob, so we had his party at Chuck E Cheese's and bought a SpongeBob Cupcake Cake! We had a great time.... Shane was tooo funny running all around, hugging his friends, playing the games, and most importantly enjoying his time with Chuckie! A great friend of ours works at Chuck E Cheese and really took great care of us! THANKS KRISTINA for everything!!! Kristina even made sure Shane had a cute cup that makes him look like he has Chuckie's mouth! Shane's friends: Izzy &Nathan, Danny, Matt & Kirsten, Gabe & Allison, Dean, Aubrey, Katie, Preston, Cody & Chase along with Big Brother Antonio and our family, all joined in the celebration!!! Everyone had a fabulous time!!! Thanks to all our friends and family who joined us on Sunday :) I still am amazed that he is two already!!! He is getting sooo big :)
On Tuesday, June 2, 2009 Antonio celebrated his 5th grade graduation! What a milestone! It seems like just yesterday my little 5 year old started Kindergarten! Now he's officially a 6th grader!!!!
His school had an Awesome ceremony and I was so thankful that I was able to attend!!! My mom was also able be a part of this wonderful day! The ceremony started with a great speech by his Principal about the importance of staying focused and setting goals. She had a cute theme following the story of the Wizard of Oz throughout her speech. After making it down the yellow brick road, it was time for awards and recognitions! Antonio is a great student and has worked very hard in 5th grade as well as throughout elementary school! We are very proud of his achievements! He received an award and medal for being the Highest Reader, an award and pin for Excellence for his FCAT reading score, an award and pin for receiving at least Honor Roll all year long and also an Excellence in Art award! He also made the Principal's List!! He was just beaming! As you can see in the pictures, he proudly wore his lapel pins and medal! We are working on having the certificates framed!!
It truly was such an exciting and special day :)
After the awards, each teacher presented their students with their moving up certificate! The ceremony ended with all of the 5th grades standing together arm in arm singing Stand By Me!! Just awesome!
A little over a month ago Sidney and Antonio went on an AWESOME school trip!!! Every year Antonio's school takes the 5th graders to a sleepover at Kennedy Space Center. They actually got to sleep under a rocket on their air mattress! Antonio had such an amazing time that he can't stop talking about it. Especially since the Rocket that they slept under is seen in a lot of movies. Sidney learned a lot about what teachers do... lol! Sidney really enjoyed being able to spend the time with Antonio.
Life is Like a ROLLER COASTER!!!
Fasten your seat belts and Enjoy the ride! What an wild week... last weekend we celebrated Antonio's 11th Birthday, I got engaged, and it was Mother's Day! It was a WONDERFUL weekend!
For Antonio's birthday, we started at American Pie Pizza Company. From there we went to the movies to see "X-Men Origins Wolverine." It was awesome, Antonio got to start the movie and all the kids enjoyed the intense movie. Afterwards, we got to enjoy cake and open presents in the party room. The party ended with Game time in the game room! Everyone had a blast!!!
Hang on tight... on each roller coaster with the UPS there is usually a fall..... Tuesday we were back to our regular routine, kids night at Chick-fi-la and everyone had a great time. Shane was chasing the cow, grabbing his tail and enjoyed game night.... Here comes the big Falllll on this roller coaster ride we call Life... I stayed up to watch the Biggest Loser Finale.. (don't get me started on who won.. ugh) anyway I was just dozing off when Shane woke up coughing and basically gasping for breath. His whole body was shaking, including his chin. He was sucking in to breath, his whole stomach would cave in. He has had croup before and I have had to take him to the hospital, but I have never had to call an ambulance. This night was Very Different. I knew that he was in serious trouble and called 911 within 3-5 minutes of him being up. He was panicked and so was I. (for me this is not the norm, I am usually very calm and not panicked.) we have a neubulizer and asthma medicine, but, I could tell by the "bark" it was croup which affects the vocal cords and the medicines we have help the lungs. Anyway, the paramedics arrived and gave him breathing treatments/check his vitals and said that we had to go to "All Kiddies" (aka All Children's Hospital) Antonio had to call my mom to hurry and come over because they wouldn't let him ride in the ambulance. What a frightening sight, seeing your child in the ambulance, laying there shaking and scared. He was soo brave, he didn't cry or fight them. He was using his energy to breathe. They put oxygen in and we continued breathing treatments. I asked on the way to the hospital if I would have done a treatment or the steam in the shower and then taken him to the hospital would we have made it.. the answer was "probably not." (I think my jaw dropped to the floor.) After several hours in the hospital and oral steriods and then an injection of steriods (because he puked the oral steriods all over me..) We were able to go home. He is still coughing and we have been back to the Doctor's twice but is doing better! I do praise God in watching over Shane!
Now.. it explains why I haven't posted the pics from Antonio's birthday until now!
Of course, we have enjoyed being home this weekend, getting a lot of rest and enjoying our beautiful Florida weather!
Some pics from today:
